The Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF) honors the service of our nation’s military. As an association of 30 non-profit colleges and universities that are Florida-Based and SACS accredited like Florida’s public colleges and universities, we continually seek to enhance our support to military students and their families. ICUF institutions offer undergraduate, graduate, first-time professional and continuing education programs dispersed throughout the state. They are accessible and affordable for active duty military, veterans and military families. The majority of our ICUF schools have Veteran Centers and Student Veteran Coordinators that link military students with admissions, academic counseling, financial aid, and other resources. These Centers significantly enhance the military students’ college experience by providing a personal outreach. ICUF’s service to military students includes:
- The ICUF Military Veterans College Network was created to ensure we fully support our military students.
- ICUF institutions provide the military community routes to degrees, careers and success in Florida.
- Twenty ICUF colleges and universities are Yellow Ribbon colleges and universities. The Yellow Ribbon Program is a provision of the Post-9/11 GI Bill that allows veterans to attend private schools and graduate programs costing more than the state tuition cap. Under the program, participating colleges and universities offer veterans-only scholarship, which the VA will then match up to the full cost of tuition and fees.
- ICUF institutions work diligently to fully recognize the academic value of military service through the Prior Learning Assessment process.
The chart below profiles these institutions, their degree programs and the links to campus contacts for the in-service military, veterans and military families.
